    White light-emitting diodes are the most advanced technology on light sources for lighting applications. One of the methods currently used to create white light LEDs is based on inorganic phosphor converters which convert blue light into white light. To expand this technology to general lighting, new approaches are needed. Dr. Catarina Esteves,Materials and Interface Chemistry Group at Eindhoven University of Technology, talks about a polymer-composite solution based on PDMS cross-linked coatings containing garnet particles.
