Reverse micelles formed hydrophilic nanodomains within hydrophobic polymeric particles. This technique is efficient, versatile, and simple. It allows the incorporation of hydrophilic guest molecules into biodegradable polymeric micro- or nanoparticles with high efficiencies making this approach particularly interesting for drug delivery applications, especially in the field of vaccination.
