The poly(vinyl alcohol-co-ethylene)(PVA-co-PE)nanofibers were prepared by a melting extrusion and phase separation process.the composite nanofiber membrane was prepared subsequently by coating the PVA-co-PE nanofibers onto the polypropylene (PP) melt-blown substrate.the  morphology of the composite nanofiber was characterized,and the effect of coating rates on its pore size distribution,contact angle,mechanical properties were investigated,also,the filtration properties and rejection rate were studied by testing the filtration effect of PVA-co-PE nanofiber membrane to CaCO3 suspension.the research result showed that the mechanical properties and hydrophilicity of PP melt blown substrate was enhanced after the coating of PVA-co-PE nanofibers.the pore size distribution of nanofiber membrane was more uniform and the average of pore size descended with the increase of nanofibers.the rejection rate of PVA-co-PE nanofiber membrane coated with 150g nanofiber to nanosized CaCO3suspension was 75.86%.
