Effect of montmorillonite on the flammability performance of ramie fiber reinforced poly(lactic acid) composites

In this study, ramieAvIMT/PLA composites were prepared by the two-roll mill. The effect of MMT on flammability behaviors of the composites was studied. Flame retardancy and melt stability of the composites deeply investigated by means of limiting oxygen index(LOl), vertical burning test, and thermogravite analysis(TcA). It was concluded that MMT was helpful to improve the flammability of ramie reinforced composites.
