A novel blue phase-mixed anatase-rutile TiO2 heterogeneous junctions composite, as anode material in lithium ion batteries (LIBs), is built via surface defect induced method. The as-synthesized composites exhibit outstanding rate capability (93 mAh g-1 at 20 C), and good cyclic stability (7.35% capacity loss after 200 cycles at 10 C).
