2010年11月1日應(yīng)楊光教授邀請，日本大阪城市大學(xué)（Osaka City University，Japan）的西成勝好（Katsuyoshi Nishinari）教授來到華中科技大學(xué)生命學(xué)院訪問交流并帶來題為“Rheological and related properties of gelling polysaccharides”的學(xué)術(shù)報告。
西城教授的報告介紹了經(jīng)金屬溶液浸漬的凝膠及其相關(guān)特性，內(nèi)容精彩詳實，與會的老師和學(xué)生積極提問，并得到教授耐心解答。
西城教授現(xiàn)為華中科技大學(xué)生命科學(xué)技術(shù)學(xué)院客座教授。2007年6月7日——2007年6月13日，西城教授也曾應(yīng)邀訪問華中科技大學(xué)，到生命科學(xué)與技術(shù)學(xué)院參觀指導(dǎo)，做了兩場學(xué)識報告（1.Rheology of biomacromolecules 1.Basic concenpts of rheology 2.Application in foods and medicine; 2. Gels and gelling processes of polysaccharides and proteins；Rheology control in foods and medicine）并受聘為生命科學(xué)與技術(shù)學(xué)院客座教授。
