Wrinkled 3D MoS2/RGO/NC composite microspheres: Optimal composition and microwave absorbing properties.

MoS2 and graphene oxide (GO) are assembled into three-dimensional MoS2/GO wrinkled microspheres by one-step ultrasonic spray technique. MoS2/RGO/NC wrinkled microspheres are obtained after carbonization of MoS2/GO coated with polydopamine (PDA) shell. The microspheres exhibited excellent microwave absorbing properties benefiting from its complex structure, complementary loss mechanisms and great impedance matching. The minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of MoS2/RGO/NC wrinkled microspheres can obtain ?60.4 dB@8.4 GHz, and the corresponding thickness is 3.1 mm. The optimal MoS2 to GO feed ratio is 1:2. Adjusting the composition of the microspheres, the material effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) is up to 6.1 GHz (11.9–18.0 GHz) at a thickness of 2.9 mm. The optimized assembly of the three materials led to the further enhancement of the microsphere performance owe to the special morphology design as well as the splendid electrical conductivity. This work offers an efficacious reference idea for the device of novel and significant wave absorbers.
