The unprecedented coordination-insertion polymerizations of the polar methoxyl substituted styrene derivatives have been achieved by using the pyridyl methylene fluorenyl yttrium bis(alkyl) precursor with high activity to give polar polystyrenes of high molecular weight and perfect syndiotacticity.
