Nanoscaleionicmaterials(NIMs)areatypeoforganic-inorganichybridmaterialsconsistingofinorganicnanocores,chargedcoronacovalentlyattachedtothecore9andoppositelychargedcanopyelectrostaticallycoupledwiththecorona[l].Thiskindofself-suspended,nanoparticle-ladenmaterialscanshowtheliquid-likeflowbehaviorintheabsenceofsolvents.Here,wepresentthepreparationandphysicalcharacterizationresultsofgraphenebasedonNIMs,whichstartedfromthehydroxyl-functionalizedgraphene(G-OH)obtainedbyutilizingnitrenechemistryE21.Thetheologicalpropertiesofourgraphene-NIMscouldbetunedinawiderangefromNewtonianfluidtosoftglassysolidbyvaryingthevolumefractionofcanopy.Thegraphene-NIMalsoshowedaviscoelasticbehaviorthatwasdifferentfromthatofthephysicalmixtureofG-OHandcanopyoligomerwiththesamesolidcontent.Thecrystallizationtemperatureofcanopyingraphene-NIMsdecreasedalotcomparedtothatofcanopyinthephysicalmixtures.Moreover,acoldcrystallizationprocessappearedduringtheheatingcycleforgraphene-NIMs,whichdidnotexistforthephysicalmixtures.Thesephenomenarevealedthatthespecificionicinteractioninthiskindofnanoscalefluidshadsignificantinfluencesontheirflowandthermalpropertiesc3].Furthermore,theobtainedgraphene-NIMcouldbewelldispersedandbestableformonthsinwater,andmanyorganicsolventswithbothhighandlowpolarity,whichindicateditsamphiphilicnature.Theseuniquepropertiesassociatedwithgraphene-NIMscanhelptoopenupnewapplicationsinmanyfieldsbasedongraphenematerialinthefuture.
